Ocean Voices: French
Explore the Ocean through French with this KS4 lesson on coastal vocabulary, climate change, overfishing and sustainable choices for ages 14–16.
Ocean Voices brings Ocean literacy into the KS4 Italian classroom, helping students develop their language skills while exploring issues that affect people and communities.
Designed for ages 14–16, the lesson introduces Italian vocabulary linked to the Ocean, coastal environments, biodiversity, and climate change. Through discussion, vocabulary activities, and a case study of climate change in Italy students practise communicating ideas and opinions about real-world environmental issues. The resource encourages learners to see language learning as a way to participate in global conversations and understand diverse perspectives.
The lesson is particularly valuable for teachers looking to make Italian learning relevant, purposeful and interdisciplinary, while supporting students to think about sustainability and the role they can play in protecting our shared Ocean.
