60 Young St. Lucians Tell their Climate Stories Through Documentary Workshops

In August 2017, Ocean Generation in partnership with UNOPS and the Education Ministry of St. Lucia, proudly graduated 60 young people from a technology and innovation summer school programme located in Micoud.

Working at the local secondary school and community access ICT centre, Ocean Generation provided support and training to empower the 60 young people to make world-class documentaries about ocean health.

Participants, aged 7-17 years old, were supported to tell their climate stories and address various topics as critical as plastic pollution, contamination in fish and toxic seaweed, some of which the Micoud community is facing. No one can tell these stories more powerfully than the incredible young people and their documentaries have the voice to change the tone of the global debate about ocean conservation.
